“I have about 100 DVDs. Should I digitize DVDs onto hard drive, of my Windows PC or Mac, it is no better than storing in my Synology NAS for Streaming if possible.”
To get DVDs onto PC, Mac or NAS, you’ll need a third-party DVD ripping software to get the content off the DVD disc as a protection-free and easily readable element.
There’re kinds of different software out there (some free, some not) with a variety of different options. It seems a bit overwhelming. Here we highly recommend Brorsoft DVD Ripper:

Meanwhile Brorsoft DVD Ripper also provides the preset formats for over 175 hot devices (iPad, iPhone, Android, Surface tablet, Samsung Galaxy, Xbox, PlayStation, NAS, Panasonic/Samsung/Sony/LG Smart TVs/HDTVs/3D TVs). Simply select the profile to rip DVD for playback on your device with optimized settings and never worry about the video incompatibility!
As DVD Copier, Brorsoft allows you to make physical and digital backup copies of your Blu-ray library. It provides two model for you: Copy DVD Main Movie Only or Backup DVD Whole Structure. This is great because it means you’ll always have access to the movies you paid for.
It has both Windows and Mac version, and Free Trail version available. We also evaluated what output formats were offered and what configurations, or operating systems, the software supported.
