Guide: How to Copy DVD Movies for NAS Drive

The Guide has divided into 3 part: Entire copy, Directly copy and Customize copy.

Part I. How to Make Lossless DVD Copy with Original Structure


Step 1: Insert DVD disc to your DVD drive, and run the Brorsoft DVD Ripper. Click the DVD disc button to load your DVD. The DVD titles and chapters will be listed on the program within a few seconds.

Step 2: Click “Browse” button to select a destination folder for the output files.

Step 3: Click quick button “Copy the entire disc” to starts copying the DVD disc to hard drive maintaining the original structure.

As soon as the copying task finished, you can click “Open” button to get the output videos.

Tip: The backed up DVD movie is usually saved as a directory file structure within which there are VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder. The VIDEO_TS folder contains main movies (.vob) and lots of system files (.ifo and .bup).


Part II. How to Directly Copy a DVD Copy with . vob Files Only


Step 1: Same as the Part I > Step 1.

Step 2: Choose “Copy” > “Directly Copy” from the Format menu to copy the . vob files only.

Step 3: Click the “Convert” button to start Directly Copy a DVD with .vob files only.

When the copying work is done, you are able to click “Open” button to get the output .vob files without any other extra contents.

Part III. Copy a DVD Copy with H.264 MP4 for all media devices


Step 1: Same as the Part I > Step 1.

Step 2: Click format bar and choose H.264 MP4 video from “Common Video” or “HD Video” category, which can be recognized NAS well.

Step 3(Optional): And click Settings bar, you can adjust the level of compression to suit the quality you want.

Step 4: Press the “Convert” button to start copying DVD movies for NAS streaming.

Tip: Other container or the preset format can can aslo selected for storage in NAS, such as MKV, as a container format it takes whatever you give it.


Once the conversion is finished, transfer the converted movies to your NAS. Then, make sure the wireless network connection is accessible among the NAS and Apple TV, PS4, HD TV or other media players. Then just enjoy the high quality DVD movies anywhere anytime.
